These hair clips are made with cellulose acetate, a plant-based plastic made from a mix of cotton pulp + 100% acetic acid.

This acetate is non-petroleum based, biodegradable, and 100% eco-friendly. Because acetate contains cotton fibers, it has a lot of the same characteristics as cotton itself. It is exceptionally lightweight, yet extremely durable.
