Beaded Leather Cuffs are the perfect ethically made bracelets! They are handmade by the fairly-paid, empowered artisans of the Swahili Coast Co-Operative.
Beaded Leather Cuffs are crafted from natural, free-range Tanzanian leather – sourced locally to the cooperative. These talented partner artisans stitch high-quality beads onto the leather cuff using a monofilament line that is similar to fishing line.
- Completely handmade, hand-beaded, and hand-pieced

- Once you have bent your cuff into a circle, please do not try to flatten it out again
SWAHILI COAST is a North Carolina-based fair trade brand working in partnership with artisans in East Africa to handcraft sandals & accessories. All beadwork is done by their partner cooperative in Tanzania. The worker-owned cooperative operates on a model of total transparency, where all members of the co-op are part-owners of the business.
They call this strategy "power over pity." The artisans Swahili Coast works with are friends and partners, and it is a joy to work with them each day - tackling poverty with community-owned solutions. They focus on empowering their artisan partners rather than pitying them. Their partners are making a good wage + working hard to create a future for themselves + their families.
